tripping

Naturally, she didn't give them her name, but each got a tab for their tongue.

"Feels like a lady bug," Billy squinted a bit.

Elliot hesitated feeling he was the one who need to take care Billy, just in case.

"You're tripping, man, got that," Billy ordered.

Elliot nodded.

"Now take your lady but, a man," Billy patted him on the back. Elliot thought he might cough it right up, but it went down, a little scratchy.

"Want to look at my art?" She got out little post cards that were no more than index card. There were squiggly lines about them.

"It what I've been feeling since I got here." She grinned so openly.

"They look like sperms to me," Elliot was serious.

"He's an artist," Billy nudged him. "He knows his sperms." Everyone had a good laugh then.

"Shall we."

Elliot guessed it was time to lay down in the back of the van. He wasn't sure he was ready for another acid trip. One had possibly lasted him a life time. Hadn't it. Of course, it might have easier with out the mud. But who cared. The filthier the better. Right?

"Its gonna be good boys. Really, electric. It'll blow your mind." She sounded like a host for a new game show, Elliot smiled. But he wasn't feeling it. Really he wasn't. He could only hope this didn't hit Billy back to Nam.

"Jesus, are you sure this stuff is any good?" Billy complained.

"Wait for it," she whispered in his ear. "Wait for it."

It was then Elliot felt something rise through him like a playful earth quake. He felt giddy and calm at the same time. There were colors and all sorts of angles to a prism going through his brain. It was his happy place. He couldn't stop smiling. He looked over at Billy then. He thought he might have wings or something. Really, it felt as if they were going places even if the van was so still.

When Elliot awoke after the endless shades of summer rotating in his head, it was night. And he was sure he'd probably fucked someone. As it was he was sure he had the hard on from hell. He pushed the door open to air out the stench only it wasn't any better outside. But it was raining. Glorious rain.

"Come on," he pulled Billy with him. He shook his head in the rain. Billy looked like shit. He had to find his way home or else.
